While Alfa Romeo enthusiasts are awaiting for the Italian company to release a punchier variant of the MiTo in the form of the production version of the 240HP GTA Concept, tuners across Europe are presenting their own proposals for the stylish sport hatch. What Lester lacks in under-the-hood performance upgrades, the Italian tuner tries to compensate with a variety of styling parts that include a front spoiler, a rear diffuser, numerous roof spoilers, beefier side skirts, 8C Competizione-like side air vents and a hood scoop.
Lester’s offerings also include a uniquely styled woofer housing that essentially eliminates the trunk space while the Italian company said that the car pictured here also features 18-inch mulitspoke alloy wheels shod in Yokohama tires (215/40R18), a suspension kit from H&R and a sport exhaust system from Inoxcar.

The German tuner of Italian hardware, Novitec, has developed a comprehensive modification package for the new Alfa Romeo MiTo sport hatchback with power and styling treatments. Novitec offers upgrades for three MiTo engines, the most powerful being the 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline unit that gains a 31HP and 30Nm bump for an overall output of 186HP and 260Nm of torque. The result is a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time in 7,4 seconds, or 0,6 seconds faster than the standard 155HP production model.
For the diesel models, Novitec’s ECU kit boosts the 1.3-liter JTD’s output from 90HP to 110HP while the 1.6-liter JTD delivers 144HP, up from 120HP. The tuner claims that peak torque is increased in both cases by around 50Nm. Tuned engines can also be upgraded with a sport rear muffler with one, two or four tailpipes.
Novitec also offers two suspension modification solutions, the first being a simple lowering kit that brings the MiTo 40mm closer to the road and the second, a stainless-steel coil-over suspension with adjustable ride height and adjustable dampers. The later gives the Alfa a tauter ride while allowing the driver to lower the car’s ride height between 35mm and 65mm.
The shell of the Italian hatch has been adorned with a new bodykit that includes a three-piece front apron, side skirts, a rear apron with an integrated diffuser and a roof spoiler. A new set of 18-inch alloys available in silver or black finish fitted with 215/35 R18 Pirelli rubber finish off the look of the vehicle.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last month certainly looked the business, but unfortunately, it’s only a concept car — for now. Alfa says they’ll have it on the market soon, but in the meantime the Italian automaker unveiled another hot version of the premium sport hatch at the AutoRAI show in Amsterdam, Holland.
Although some details and teaser shots surfaced before the show kicked off, the Fiat group didn’t release any new information on its latest sporty MiTo, so all we have to go on are reports circulating the interwebs. This is what we know: it’s called the Veloce, and slots in between the current 155hp 1.4-liter turbo of the fully-spec’ed standard MiTo and the 240hp GTA with a 180 horsepower turbo four. It’s also packing beefier brakes, a revised suspension, and an upgraded body kit including a front splitter, rear wing and side skits, plus big powder-coated white rims with matching white mirror caps and detailing. Sport seats and aluminum pedals round out the package on the inside, but until Alfa gets some official info out there, that’s all we got.

It appears that Alfa Romeo is in a hurry to introduce a whole range of sporty variants of its well-received MiTo premium city car. And while we’ll have to stay put to see the production version of the adrenaline-packed, 240-horsepower MiTo GTA that made its debut as a near-production concept at this month’s Geneva motorshow, Alfa Romeo is readying yet another sporty variant that will close the gap between the 155HP 1.4 TB model and the top-spec GTA.
Alfa Romeo MiTo Veloce 180HpAccording to our Dutch pals over at Autoblog.nl, the MiTo Veloce will make its world premiere at Holland’s largest motor show, the AutoRAI 2009 that will be held at the Amsterdam Exhibition Centre from 1 to 11 April.
The MiTo Veloce is said to come with a modified version of the standard car’s 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine boasting the same upgrades as the Fiat Grande Punto Abarth SS’ 1.4L turbo unit for a total output of 180HP (+35Hp over the 1.4 TB).
Following in the footsteps of its Abarth SS stablemate, the MiTo Veloce will also feature an upgraded suspension and beefier brakes as well as a more aggressively styled bodykit and larger alloy wheels.
